Memphis-based Meteor Records rocked and rolled onto the scene in 1952 with an Elmore James recording. Looking to get Southern Blues and R&B into the hands of young listeners, the Meteor label found great talent in the area -- but failed to produce any big hits. 

Little Milton Campbell recorded for Meteor. So did Rufus Thomas, who just five years later would earn great fame at Stax Records, which opened across town the year after Meteor Records closed. Lewie Steinberg played on Rufus' Meteor Records tracks, and went on to be the founding bassist of Booker T and the MGs. 

This Bluescentric Brand Record Label T-Shirt is a premium lightweight (4.2oz) "vintage" style tee. Solid colors are 100% combed, ringspun cotton. Athletic Heather is 90% cotton. All other Heather colors are 52% cotton, 48% poly. Sizes run true. Favorite tees are lighter and slightly more fitted compared to the Classic Gildan tees.
