Before Elvis Presley was a never-before-seen massive international sensation, he was a young man from Tupelo, Mississippi, trying to sound like bluesman Arthur Crudup in Memphis, Tennessee.

Working as a theater usher & listening to blues music on the area's radio station, Presley finally worked up enough courage to walk into the small local record label, Sun Records, and ask to make some recordings "for his mom's birthday". A few months later, while auditioning for Sun owner Sam Philips, Elvis made an impromptu recording of Crudup's "That's All Right Mama" and the rest was history.
