Back in 2009, Taj Mahal played songs about wayward women catching the old Katy Train just yards from the now-historic Katy Train Station in Columbia, Missouri. Matt Marshall, a young computer programmer in the front row, soon discovered there wasn’t a modern online resource for people passionate about roots, rock n roll, blues and soul music.
Initially part of a college project, Matt wrote the original Bluescentric.com online store himself, creating original designs on only the best quality hand-picked shirts, and hand-writing thank you notes to every blues lover and passionate music customer.
Six years later, Bluescentric works directly with artist estates and sells Officially Licensed and original music merch all over the world. Our full-scale production facility has served tens of thousands of customers in over 65 countries and counting. Our awesome music-loving staff still makes every shirt, and hand signs and packs every order.
Because we care about the music, every sale from Bluescentric’s exclusive Officially Licensed merch is paid directly to the artist estates. Because we care about our customers, real musician humans are available by phone and email, so when you need something, you can talk directly with us. Because we want to keep the impact on the stage not the landfill, 95% of all paper used at Bluescentric is recycled. The packaging we ship your order in is recyclable too (hint hint!)
We draw inspiration from the unique experience of live music and the American culture that surrounds it to bring you only the best merch that we’d wear and use ourselves.
Bluescentric ships worldwide, by way of Ol’ Missouri. Long live music!
