Description
Officially Licensed Professor Longhair T Shirt. Sales paid to Songbyrd, Inc., representing Professor Longhair's estate.

Henry Roeland "Dr Professor 'Fess' Longhair" Byrd recorded his famous version of the Fat Tuesday anthem "Go To The Mardi Gras" in New Orleans in 1959. The original Ron Records label was used in the creation of this shirt. Fess' genius rhumba and rhythm & blues piano style came to define the sound of the city.

The storied New Orleans label Ron Records was only in business three years before it shuttered after the death of its owner in 1962. In its short window, the small shop recorded some of the funkiest, bluesiest, most landmark tracks Professor Longhair and ever laid down.

This Bluescentric Brand New Orleans Music T Shirt is a comfortable, lightweight (4.2oz) "vintage" style tee. Solid colors are 100% combed, ringspun cotton. Athletic Heather is 90% cotton. All other Heather colors are 52% cotton, 48% poly. Sizes run true. Favorite tees are lighter and slightly more fitted compared to the Classic Gildan tees.
