Already Free, released in 2009, was the ninth studio album by The Derek Trucks Band, and won a 2010 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. The band had more time to mature, and the album's sound is more balanced between the different contributions of it's members, who developed it's overall effect as they arranged the songs.

The album marks Derek Trucks Band's highest debut on the Billboard Top 200 chart to date.
