Every sale directly benefits the Butterfield estate!

Honing his musical abilities growing up in 1950s Chicago, Paul Butterfield cut his teeth at a young age playing with the greats like Muddy Waters.

After forming his own band that included guitarists Mike Bloomfield and a young Elvin Bishop, Butterfield played a stunning blues harmonica and provided scorching vocals that would quickly find the group success.

After a major booking at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, where they backed Bob Dylan in the pivotal moment when he "went electric", the group recorded their eponymous first album The Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

The album is a raw, brazen & powerful mix of electric Chicago style blues & rock & roll. Tracks included rocking originals and high-energy covers of Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Willie Dixon and others.
