Description
This is a digitally remastered new Led Zeppelin Album 1 vinyl LP pressing of their masterful 1969 debut album, with a gatefold sleeve and an eight page booklet.

It was 1968 and The Yardbirds had all-but-disbanded, leaving the band's guitarist Jimmy Page on the hook for a series of Scandinavian gigs.

He recruited bassist John Paul Jones, vocalist Robert Plant, and drummer John Bonham to complete the tour as The New Yardbirds, while honing new material and a new concept.

When the group returned, they changed their name to "Led Zeppelin" -- a wink-and-nod to The Who's John Entwistle, who cheekily suggested the group would go over like a lead-filled balloon zeppelin. Page and the band's manager Peter Grant paid for their first recording session, because they didn't have a record deal.

Originally released January 12, 1969, the self-titled debut was an immediate hit worldwide. Selling tens of millions of copies, this album has gone 13x platinum in the U.S. alone.
