B.B. King, accompanied by Medgar Evers' brother Charles, gave a prison performance on June 8th, 1983 for the inmates at the notorious Parchman Farm in the Mississippi Delta -- about 35 miles from King's childhood home. The next day, he would be the guest of honor in his Indianola, Mississippi hometown for the third annual B.B. King Homecoming Festival.

Johnny Winter's menacing, legendary "Screaming Demon" tattoo artfully fit the bluesman's aggressive style.

"This was a graphic of a demon’s face on fire with eyes that looked right through you," wrote author Steve Rosen, "This monster had a head full of fire and the flames were trailing behind him—or her—as if the creature was in motion. On the prowl. Looking for the next kill. This was some ancient Fury, a spawn of hell, being consumed by its own fire."

Inked by Kevin Brady at Sunset Strip Tattoo back in 1984, Winter received the tattoo in Los Angeles while staying at "The Riot House" -- a legendary Rock n Roll haunt. The tattoo took two days, one for the outline, the second for the fill. "Man, it really f*ckin' hurt," Winter told Easy Riders: Tattoo Magazine in 1989 of his self-described most painful ink.
