The earliest iteration of George Clinton's band was named Parliament due to the popularity of Parliament cigarettes, and they sang doo-wop. After adding some musicians and diving deep into the blooming psychedelic rock movement, the more experimental version of the group became "Funkadelic". Eventually they merged "Parliament Funkadelic"... 

This design is inspired by the Parliament Cigarettes connection, and spoofs the style and iconic V of the brand in a Funkadelic way.
