In the back of a furniture store on Farish St in Jackson, Mississippi, a young woman began recording bluesmen from the neighborhood, including Sonny Boy Williamson and Elmore James, who cut the first recording of "Dust My Broom" in the building. Trumpet Records may not have existed for long, but it made a larger than life impact on music.
