Blues singer and harmonica legend Chester Arthur Burnett was born in White Station, Mississippi and gained the nickname Howling Wolf on his way to help found Chicago Blues at Chess Records.

Known for 300 Lbs of Heavenly Joy and Smokestack Lightning, Wolf became one of the most influential proto-rock n rollers in history.

Sun Records' Sam Philips, (who found Johnny Cash & Elvis Presley) called Howlin Wolf his greatest discovery. Led Zeppelin covered Wolf's "Killing Floor" as their hit "The Lemon Song" on Led Zeppelin II. The Rolling Stones refused to play U.S. TV without Howlin' Wolf opening for them.
