Est. 1924 / Electronically Recorded / Saint Louis, Missouri.

Herwin Records was founded in 1924 in Saint Louis, and while there were other artists on the label, Herwin is most notable for promoting the music of Charley Patton -- the man who would eventually come to be known as the grandfather of rock n roll. Eventually, Herwin was picked up by Paramount Records & shuttered. The early Herwin Records are historically significant for spreading this funky new music known as the blues across the midwest.
