Official Pink Floyd.

This design features Pink Floyd's stop at Carnegie Hall in New York City during the band's transformative 1972 tour.

The text at the top is the names of the band members: David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason. The pyramids with a floating moon in this design would later be used as a poster tucked into the Dark Side album release. Text at the bottom reads "Dark Side of the Moon Tour" and the date of the NYC shows: May 1 & 2.

Before recording a single track of Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd went on their legendary 1972-73 DSOM tour, in order to play & refine their new songs before committing them to tape.

In fact, recording would not begin on the Dark Side of the Moon album until a little more than three weeks after this early May appearance at Carnegie Hall.

Floyd continued to refine DSOM until the album was finished in 1973. To resemble the album, the live show added added saxophone & backing singers, playing 38 more dates that year.

This period of time proved to be a transcendent moment. Dark Side's brooding themes of life, death & lunacy struck a chord with humanity, rapidly becoming one of the most popular pieces of music of all time, and the band became larger than life.

And everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.
