The cover photo of of Dylan and girlfriend Suze Rotolo, along with those in the album, were taken by CBS staff photographer Don Hunstein in February of 1963. On the cover, the couple are walking down Jones Street in West Village, New York City.

Originally released May 27th, 1963, the album transcended "smash hit" status to be a cultural powerhouse -- the anthem for an entire generation living under upheaval, change & fear of war.
