Description
This is a new vinyl record pressing of Professor Longhair's classic album Crawfish Fiesta on 180 gram vinyl, with a bonus track, "River's Invitation".

This is a lightning strike once-in-a-lifetime album. Professor Longhair was experiencing a renaissance of attention after a lifetime of practice when he was approached by Alligator's Bruce Iglauer.

Armed with a powerful new opportunity to record fresh music, Fess went to Allen Toussaint's Sea Saint Studio and assembled some of the best New Orleans musicians alive, including longtime conga accomplice Uganda Roberts and Dr. John on guitar.

It was about to be his moment. Fess was now headlining Jazzfest, playing private parties for John Lennon, his new album would release soon, and he was set to open a massive national tour for The Clash when he died in his sleep, at just 61 years old.

Crawfish Fiesta released shortly after his passing, and would have a powerful, lasting impact on music.
