Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett wrote a song called “Bob Dylan Blues” in 1965, and recorded it during sessions for his solo album “Barrett”, but the song was unreleased and largely unknown until it was released in 2001.

1983 was quite the impactful year for Johnny Winter. His tour criss-crossed the globe, playing Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and France. He played the prestigious Massey Hall in Ontario, CA.

He kicked off a set at the Palladium in NYC with a Freddie King cover. His song with Muddy Waters, "Mannish Boy" was prominently featured in Risky Business starring Tom Cruise, the hit movie of the summer.

It was also the year Muddy Waters died, and so Johnny & Muddy were featured in Rolling Stone, on the cover of Guitar Player Magazine, and more.

And Winter returned to his Beaumont, Texas hometown as a hero, covering Rolling Stones, Robert Johnson, and playing some of his own hits like Rock & Roll Hoochie Koo on a hot July night at the civic center.
