In early 1974, Bob Dylan had been out of the public eye for eight years following a 1966 motorcycle accident during the height of his popularity. 

Anticipation for his comeback was white hot, and on January 3rd, Bob Dylan and The Band embarked on a two month, 40-show tour across the U.S., Toronto and Montreal.

It was a smashing success, Some 12-million people tried to buy the 500,000 tickets available.
