The compelling photo of John Lee Hooker was shot by photographer Stephen Parker at the Hammersmith Odeon, London, in May 1987. "Hooker only leaned back [into the light] twice in the whole gig," Parker told Bluescentric. "The rest of the time his face was in shadow."
