Description
Monterey International Pop Music Festival, held in 1967, has a special place in American culture. It was The Who's first U.S. performance, so Pete Townshend smashed his guitar in a famous finalé. It was also Jimi Hendrix's American debut. Not to be outdone by Townshend, Hendrix set fire to his guitar "as a sacrifice" at the end of his performance.

Famed performances by Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, The Grateful Dead, The Butterfield Blues Band, Booker T and the MGs, and many others cemented Monterey Pop's place in rock n roll history.

* Sizing runs slightly tight on baseball raglans. If you're close to or between sizes, consider the larger size. Refer to the size chart (in inches) below for best results. We can exchange sizing if you have trouble.
