The famous Muddy Waters 1981 world tour would ultimately be the musician's last -- but it was a big one.

The bluesman crossed dozens of U.S.states, including appearances at The Beacon Theatre, Beale Street and a celebrated Jazzfest set in New Orleans, before embarking through France, Spain, Germany, and Canada, coming back home to criss-cross America with his groundbreaking blues music.

Towards the end of Muddy Waters' 1981 tour, during a rare stop at home in Chicago, The Rolling Stones came to play the blues with their idol at the Checkerboard Lounge on November 22nd, 1981.

Waters never toured again after 1981. His only other public appearance was his final, at Eric Clapton's wedding in 1982.
