Description
** THIS IS A CLEARANCE T-SHIRT! **
This means it is extremely low stock, and when they are gone they are gone! All sales are final -- NO RETURNS. The shirt itself will be free from any defects, holes or issues. We place shirts on clearance when the shirt is still in wonderful sellable condition, but we just have an extra or two. Maybe we overprinted, or occasionally print a test tee, maybe we're discontinuing the design, etc.

These shirts are not compatible with coupons.

This is an official Charlie Parker jazz t-shirt, available in a variety of colors, and heavy cotton sizes up to 5XL. Bluescentric Brand, the material is available in classic heavy 100% preshrunk cotton sizes S-5XL. Heather colors are 50/50.

Sizes run very true, and have minimal, if any, shrinking. This is a standard go-to t shirt. And every sale benefits Parker's estate!

It was a hot July week in 1952 when Charlie Parker returned to his Kansas City hometown a big star.

With a saxophone, Parker had become the music pioneer, mentoring practically all of the emerging jazz giants, from Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Thelonious Monk and many others.

The El Capitan was the beating heart of 18th & Vine, placed right on the corner of the famed Jazz District's namesake crossroads, and there was no more fitting place for Parker to make his triumphant return.

A one week engagement quickly became too popular, and so a matinee was added, and then a whole second week.

The legendary residency would prove to be a high water mark between the man & the city that raised him -- there would be precious few more chances for Kansas City to experience Charlie Parker's genius.
