David Raye's new album, Primal Blues, has just been released! David's unique foot stompin', primal, wild delta blues dobro style is a force to be reckoned with. If you're a delta blues fan, be sure and pick this album up!

Wow ! This album is headed for my "Classic" collection. David strips away all the bells and whistles and what you get is EXACTLY what the Blues is about. He reaches down deep to deliver a total knock out punch that stirs your soul and brings back the Blues you have been searching for. Buy it ! Use this as a standard to measure other Blues music.

David Raye's aptly named "Primal Blues" is delta blues defined. He draws from the ghosts of Charley Patton, Blind Willie McTell and other early blues influences to create a masterful blues album. The occasional harmonica and djembe drum in just the right places create a knockdown sound; modern, primal and trancelike all at once. My sound card is not working but I've heard several of Dave's earlier recordings. Just of the home grown variety and the words that have always come to mind were "authentic and mesmerizing." He tapped into something at the source of the blues. He strives for an original authenticity. I never found a thing to criticize in those home grown primal blues recordings though he often grills me to find problems. So if he tells me these are hands down better recordings and songs by far, I think you are going to hear something special
