Flick Records Detroit Crewneck Sweater 

This extra comfortable Soul Music sweatshirt is 8.5oz 80/20 cotton/polyester blend, with 100% cotton face (20 singles face yarn). It features a 1x1 ribbing at collar, cuffs and waistband, a tear-away label, and split stitch double needle sewing on all seams. The fit is very standard.

The text in this design reads Flick Recording Co, with the label's former address, and "Detroit, Michigan".

It was the late 1950s and something soulful was beginning to well up from the ground in Detroit. 

One pioneering individual, Robert West, wanted to capture the infectious music that he was hearing in raucous clubs and busy street corners. Flick Records was his marquee label, releasing raw soul power before soul even had a name. 

While Flick's soulful tracks that failed to achieve much national notoriety, the influence of the label's music would inspire a lot of Detroit area residents and musical collectives, including the likes of Motown and young performers like Marvin Gaye.
