Description
The mysterious and long-running Catfish Blues song was first laid to wax by a man named Robert Petway, who recorded just sixteen tracks in 1941 and '42 -- then was never heard from again.

The version featured on this t-shirt was recorded by Elmore James (originally billed as Elmo James) on July 24th, 1951 at Trumpet Records on Farrish Street in Jackson, Mississippi. Though Trumpet Records only survived a mere four years beginning in 1951, the label captured some of the most persistent and famous blues songs and musicians of the 20th century.

About a year earlier, Muddy Waters turned Catfish Blues into "Rollin' Stone", then in the late 1960s, Jimi Hendrix laid down his own version.

This Bluescentric Brand blues music Catfish t-shirt is a premium lightweight 4.2oz vintage style tee in sizes up to 4XL. Solid colors are 100% combed, ringspun cotton. Athletic Heather is 90% cotton. All other Heather colors are 52% cotton, 48% poly. Sizes run true. These vintage style 4.2oz t-shirts are lighter and slightly more fitted compared to the Classic Gildan tees.
